Ryuta has created a repository on GitHub for a browser-based version of StarCraft that you can play in seconds. It requires no installation on your computer and shows not only some of the main units entering battle, but even animations from the game.

Of course, this browser-based version of StarCraft can not be called a full-fledged – the project is still in its early stages of development. However, Ryuta’s instructions say that the demo even includes some cheats from the original StarCraft desktop version.

Perhaps the only big problem with this HTML5 version of StarCraft is that the game uses the original content and sound files without Blizzard’s permission, and the latter is unlikely to ignore this display of effrontery of the highest order. Previously, Blizzard has repeatedly destroyed other projects that used its designs without permission. Thus, it is likely that this HTML5 version of StarCraft will not be available for long.
